Dindo Campilan brings to CIAT over 15 years of Asia-wide agricultural research leadership and program management experience.
Campilan previously worked with the International Potato Center (CIP) as: regional leader for South-West-Central Asia, regional science leader for sweetpotato in Asia, and regional partnership program leader for Users’ Perspectives with Agricultural Research and Development (UPWARD). As CIP senior social scientist, he researched and published on: roots and tubers for food security, action learning for value chain development, collective action for pest/disease/seed management, and on-farm genetic resources conservation.
Campilan holds a PhD in Agriculture and Environmental Science from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. He was senior visiting fellow in advanced research management at the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), and affiliate scientist with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).
